Our Story

Hi, I'm Alycia, the maker behind Purely Crafted by Alycia.

Purely Crafted began with a simple desire to be more intentional about the ingredients that go into and onto my family's bodies. After spending time reading ingredient labels and learning more about what I was using, I started experimenting with handmade soap in the fall of 2024.

My journey became even more personal when I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 37. Going through that experience changed the way I looked at so many things, including the ingredients in the products I use every day. I became much more intentional about what goes into and onto my body and my family's bodies.

That experience was one of the things that encouraged me to learn more, experiment with making my own products, and eventually create Purely Crafted. What began as a personal journey toward being more mindful of the products in our home became a small business that allows me to share those handmade creations with others.

What started in my own kitchen quickly became something much bigger. In February 2025, Purely Crafted by Alycia officially became a business. 

Today, I make small-batch soaps, tallow creams, bath and body products, home essentials, and seasonal goodies by hand right here in Iowa.

I believe there's something special about knowing who made the products you're bringing into your home. I put a lot of thought into the ingredients I use and source locally whenever I can. I render our own tallow, work with local neighbors and small businesses when possible, and continue growing ingredients on our farm.

Every batch is made by hand, not mass-produced. That means each product gets my time, attention, and care.
